New to Ribble in 1971 as fleet number 1988, the vehicle spent its early years in Carlisle and Preston before moving to Burnley prior to disposal. Passing to Eastern Counties in 1985 it became VR378 (later VR318), being allocated to many locations. It is the most modern double-decker bus owned by the Collection, passing from J. Patterson in May 2005. In 1992 it was fitted with Auto-steer air-assisted steering at the King's Lynn depot, which was later removed by D. Potter. It retained Ribble moquette seats until at least 10/92 but these had been replaced with green vinyl by 12/94.
